The typical college student faces stress and anxiety that may be due in part to the major prevalence of peer pressure on college campuses. We surveyed Providence College students to assess the prevalence of peer pressure and its impact on the academic success of PC students. Based on our findings, students’ academic success is most negatively impacted by peer pressure relating to social gatherings, followed by alcohol use, and then clothing choices. We make several recommendations to address these findings to various PC stakeholders, including the Counseling Center, the Office of Orientation, and the Office of Student Activities.
