Poster Presentation: Wednesday, April 24, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
In our poster presentation, we build a model that analyzes data from the Cape Cod Baseball League to evaluate college players who hope to be drafted into the Major Leagues the following summer. Our new model builds on our previous Wins Above Replacement metric and combines data from each player’s on-field performance and intrinsic skills. Using machine learning techniques, we test the model on the previous year’s data and aim to predict where each player should be drafted this coming summer.
