Teaching Reading explores the growth mindset as a tool to promote self-efficacy, personal control, and resilience. Students take philosophies of teaching literacy into the elementary classroom every week. Therefore, learning about growth mindset helps decrease anxiety in these student teachers who experience setbacks in practice. Moreover, the students are able to infuse the elementary school children with the growth mindset through effective responses. Students incorporate reflection on the learning process and recognition of strengths in their lesson plans.
