Light Reflection
Victoria Holowinsky ’24, Studio Art major, concentration Photography
Faculty Mentor: Dr. Eric Sung, Art and Art History

Poster Presentation: Wednesday, April 24, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The artist was attracted to the contrast between light and dark perhaps because some experienced struggles growing up, whether through her education or relationships. Humans want human connection – to love and to be loved. The light represents healing and perseverance to keep going through the darkness, and the willingness to go through even with all the uncertainty around it. The red hue in the image represents the ‘fire in belly’ – the determination to get better and be better. Intended goal for the viewer is to interact with the pieces in whichever way inspires them. Feelings, explore thoughts, and meditative experience are welcomed.
